Ascending from the shadowed depths of Stockholm, THIS GIFT IS A
CURSE is a force forged in the crucible of black metal and
sludge-laden doom, dragging listeners into an abyss where light
dares not tread. Since their infernal inception, they’ve carved a
legacy with the bones of the forgotten and the damned.
With their latest album, ‘Heir’, THIS GIFT IS A CURSE summon a
maelstrom of human suffering and dark beauty. Recorded in the
haunted confines of the Overlook Studio, under the meticulous gaze
of producer William Blackmon, every track is a vile statement to
the band’s relentless pursuit of extremity. From the slow burn of
“Void Bringer” to the soul-crushing depths of “Seers of no Light”,
‘Heir’ is an exploration of the void that lies within us all.
Magnus Lindberg’s mastering at Redmount Studios ensures the album’s
sonorous dread is harnessed to its fullest potential, delivering a
sonic apocalypse that only the bravest souls can endure.
