Hailing from the mystic lands of Ecuador, the newly formed black metal entity Apus has unleashed their debut full-length offering, “Invocación Equinoccial”. With one ambient folk piece and two atmospheric black metal tracks, the album transports the listener into the frozen mountains and magic from a forgotten lore.
Apus is born amidst fog and cold, under the telluric mantle of
the Andes Mountains. Pacha Aborigen began with the idea of
creating Apus in 2022. He began composing frosty melodies on his
keyboard alone, aiming to create atmospheric black metal, with a
philosophy centered on our own Andean culture. Later, Atzil Kamak
joined on guitar and drums, forming a solid musical context. Uba
Rhua and Inti transcend the atmosphere as ancestral
spokespeople.
The depth of the lyrics deepen that spiritual connection between
the Witch in the midst of the Andes, in transition with the
solstices and equinoxes.
In the ancestral language, Uba Rhua connects with the origin of the
four elements, while Inti, with his sibilant being, projects the
cosmic aura of the Chaska Children. In April 2023 they entered the
studio to record their first EP with 3 songs influenced by Burzum,
Severoth, Olhava, Hermord and Wolves in The Throne Room.
